A chauffeured Napa Valley wine tour is one of the great Bay Area experiences — rolling vineyards, world-class Cabernet, and not a single worry about driving. Here's how to plan the perfect day.
When is the best time to visit Napa?
Napa is beautiful year-round, but each season has a personality:
- Spring (Mar–May): Green hills, mustard blooms, and smaller crowds — a favorite for photos.
- Summer (Jun–Aug): Warm and lively; book tastings in advance as it's peak season.
- Harvest / Fall (Sep–Oct): The most exciting time — crush season, the vines at their best. It's also the busiest, so plan early.
- Winter (Nov–Feb): Quiet, cozy, and often the best value, with intimate tastings.
How many wineries should you visit?
Less is more. Most guests enjoy 3 to 4 wineries in a six-hour tour, or up to five in a full eight-hour day. Each tasting runs 60–90 minutes, and rushing defeats the purpose. A good chauffeur plans the route so you arrive on time for each reservation without backtracking.
What does a chauffeured Napa wine tour cost?
Chauffeured tours are typically priced by the hour with a minimum. With Peace Limo Service, wine tours have a 6-hour minimum and start at $90/hour for a Premium Sedan, $110/hour for a Luxury SUV, and $225/hour for an Executive Sprinter — with 15 miles included per hour. Tasting fees are paid at each winery. Splitting the vehicle cost across a group makes it very reasonable per person.
